Prophet 10 Desktop gets almost hot

I wanted to ask if it is normal that a Prophet 10 desktop becomes really hot after about 30 minutes.
When I touch the back left of the device or the left side of the bottom plate, it is alarmingly hot. You can still touch the plate, but it is at the limit. 

I wonder if this is normal (?) .  Having bought the P10 Desktop new.

Just a suggestion, it might be worthwhile to user a laser thermometer to narrow down specifically how hot.

At least it gives a measure if you end up needing to contact Sequential.

My P12 module gets hotter than any of my other gear, reaching 98F in certain spots despite a ventilated design as a point of reference.

Based on my other synth gear I'd say that's pretty warm, for an exterior measurement if your room is well air conditioned, but I've also had plenty of computer components running much warmer 24x7 for years without issue.

Hopefully others can chime in here with comparison temps on their desktop units (I have the keyboard version) so you can see how far out of the norm it is (or isn't) and make a decision based on that.

Mine does not get as hot, however, sometimes it does get nicely warm after a while.

If you have already placed it such that there is enough space around and below to evacuate any heat, better contact support.

What is the first number shown when pressing Auto Tune? It shows the inside temperature in Celcius. It is often like 48° C (about 118° F) in my keyboard P-10. And the keyboard versions are more likely a bit cooler inside due to the more room.

Wow never even noticed that.  Mine is showing 46C at the moment (I keep my house pretty cool but the studio room gets disproportionately warmer as a result of its size (small) and all the gear)..

If you say that 48 C  is okay for the KB version, then everything should be fine for me too.

just to correct my previous email. After 3 hours the max Temp reaches 61 Celsius = 142 F 😬

I would also add that measuring specific spots with the aforementioned laser thermometer is a good idea to identify hotspots that may not be reflected by measuring the overall temp inside the unit.  The maximum reading might be helpful when communicating to support, and even the location of where it occurs could provide diagnostic info to them.

At startup the temperature shown by tune is 26 degrees celsius, after 30 minutes to an hour of playing it is 57 degrees celsius. On the outside, it does however not really feel that hot.
