MPE via firmware update?
« on: May 20, 2022, 03:21:42 PM »
Hi Oberheim & Sequential people,

The video interview done by Synth Anatomy was interesting and one of the questions was about MPE. Not included as we all know but the only missing question for me was "will / can it be possible to add MPE via firmware update like it was done in the past for both Prophet-6 and OB-6?".

At it's a 2022 monster synthesizer that would be a wrong decision for me to don't add it as
- the Oberheim sound is all about emotion in my mind and MPE is a more complete way to control the tension and emotion of our play
- more and more (cheaper) synths integrate the feature
- more and more controllers are here to manipulate these combined parameters.

If someone from the staff can tell us here.

Thanks in advance

Asking again a year and a half later. When can we expect an MPE update?

email support to request it. The more requests they get, the more impetus to implement it.

This one is on our feature request list. As always, we can't say if or when we will implement specific features, but we are aware that MPE on the X8 is heavily requested.

As others have mentioned, it always helps when folks email support directly - we'll add in new requests to our internal docs, or we'll add to the tally for features that are already documented.  8)
