Brand New Unit from Dealer has loose and wobbling potentiometers

Hi Sequentials,

I got a unit from the dealer - brand new.

It has wobbling and lose cutoff-potentiometer. And also a few other knobs are wobbling in a similar manner.

I am very much concerned.

Even if I send this faulty unit back. Will it happen in the near future again, even with a new unit?

I heard Sequential made some design modifications to save money in the production process.

Are the potentiometers affected?

Plase give some comments, about your units in the fields. Do you experience similar problems?

Thank you!

This definitely does not seem right.  Returning / replacing might be your best bet for quick turnaround, however, I recommend contacting Sequential support first through their online form, as they might have a quick fix for this that can be done at home with a few minutes and basic tools.  Sometimes things like this can be fixed by opening up the unit and tightening a few screws... ie:  if its just a loose panel/board connection   (not sure if that's the case in this instance, but might be)

I've owned many DSI/Sequential synths over the past twenty years, and mechanical quality has always been top notch.  Minus their original Poly Evolver keyboard ~17 years ago, every synth I've owned from them has been rock solid for years or decades...  The original PEK back in 2005 had some sub-par rotary encoders in the first gen, but that was their first product as DSI, and since then, they have had a pretty great QC record, at least from my perspective. (and whenever there is an issue, they are usually very good with support and quick fix options)

If you do plan to return and replace with a new unit, I think you can pretty confidently know it will be solid.  I do highly recommend the Rev2 for its versatility and wide range of sound design capabilities.
