I got my Prophet 6 module in 2016. I've never updated it, is there a concern about updating the oldest version straight to the latest?
To the best of my knowledge, the idea of incremental patching doesn't really apply to Sequential hardware, you're pretty much dumping the entire OS to the synth each time. If it worked any other way, there would have to be elaborate utilities released to handle the case of patching from the factory state to a specific version, but all OS releases are just sysex files.
