OB-6 not functional with a loud horn sound on initial startup.

Hi All,

I'm an owner of a brand new OB-6. When turning it on after being off for a while it will start sounding a full volume (red line) air horn like sound continuously until turned off despite all knobs being at zero. It will keep doing this w/o being functional until the unit has sat in this condition in the on position for a matter of time. I think until it's warmed up. Then when I flip the switch off and then on again it turns on normally and starts functioning without issue until turned off and cooled down again. Not an ideal situation.

Is this normal? I assume not. Has anyone else here seen this? If so, is there an easy fix? I'm wondering if I should just return it and exchange it for replacement while I still can?

Running: OB-6 OS - v1.7.4

Email support@sequential.com as they’ll be best placed to help and will want to know about this.

Definitely not normal. If it's brand new it should still be under warranty. Anyhow I would strongly suggest contacting Sequential about it.

How did this turn out? Just got my OB 6 and while it isn't doing anything that extreme, it does make a strange ascending tone when first powered on, along with a pop. My Prophet 6 doesn't do this so I would assume it isn't normal behavior.

Hi,
Did you solve this issue?
Recently I discovered the exact same issue on my OB-6...
