Supply shortage?

Supply shortage?

Hi there!
was just wondering if sequential also has been hit by the supply shortage of recent?
I'm going to buy a Pro 3,but it seems to be out of stock in most places, and my local dealer haven't heard anything about availability. I'm located in Norway, BTW.

Pym indicated recently that semiconductor shortages and supply chain issues are affecting Sequential (see https://forum.sequential.com/index.php/topic,4616.msg56310.html#msg56310).

The context of Pym's comment is that hardware shortages make it harder to do software updates, the reason for that not being immediately obvious to me. Seems like, if you can't work on hardware, you work on software! But I'm sure there's more nuance than that, and that maybe the hardware shortage makes his duties take longer.

Hope you're able to find a Pro 3 before too long. It's hard to get a lot of synth-related things these days. You can't buy an Optomix for anything.

I read that as him saying either that they are having to spend more time sourcing parts, which eats into software programming time. Or, that the shortage means they’re having to make some hardware revisions to accommodate what components are actually available, which again takes time to do.

Thanks!
I hope so too - got some serious GAS towards it!

Thomann has them in stock

Shipping from Germany to Norway costs a lot more then getting it from a dealer in Norway, unfortunately :/
