Just received my Pro 3 I’m excited to start making patches.

What is the best way to backup all the patches currently on my Pro 3? Is it possible to make all user bank patches basic programs?

Thanks.

if you bought it new, the user patches are duplicates of the factory patches - so no need for backing up.
i don't understand the need to fill the user banks with basic patches. maybe you missed the shortcut for making a basic patch: Transpose Down Button + Latch Button = instant "Basic Patch"

if you want to fill the banks with a different / customized Basic Patch, you will need an editor or save it manually.

I purchased my unit used and the previous owner made custom patches that I don’t want to overwrite. Having a bank full of basic programs makes it easy to save patches without thinking about what patch your overwriting. What editor do you recommend? My main use would be for patch management. Thanks.

simplest would be to dump the user banks with something like midi ox or Sysex librarian for later use.
then there is Knobkraft - its not the typical bank editor but free and for me it works fine to go through patches.
and finally the dedicated commercial editor from sound tower, but i can't say anything about it, cause I don't own it.
