Don't know if he has way better gear or something, but makes me feel must have.
And looked though most of them on YT. Not even Sequential demo stands the test.

IMO, of course....

If anybody knows, I saw in manual a mod source Voice Spread, but only spot I found it.
Is there voice spread or pan spread as REV2 call it?

Can you at all get voice spread with help of modulation?

Thanks.

Bo's demos are always good.

The "Voices / Voice Spread" mod source is new to Sequential's instruments...  its something I've been lobbying for over the past couple years... certainly happy to see it in the Take 5, and hopefully future instruments will get it as well.   The great thing about having voices as a mod source, is that it allows you to do custom vintage voice variance modulation, with a fairly straightforward workflow.

Previous instruments have had VCA Spread Panning controls, however that's a hardwired modulation of voice number to amp panning.   This source can accomplish that type of amp panning as well, just by routing Voice Spread -> Pan.

Sounds terrific, thanks.

And with doubling modulation on note number too you can do this not uncommon i digital pianos - playing high octaves and those voices are more to the right and vice versa. Not that 5 voices can be as wide as piano with 100 or so with damper down, but still.

Yeah, I always do Note Number > Pan modulation for piano patches, and often use it when doing orchestral ensembles type patches as well... like string ensemble patches.   Add some voice spread, plus some note number modulation to separate the bass/cello/viola/violin instruments in the virtual orch pit, and you suddenly have huge stereo field ensemble, and per voice variance creates that real analog/acoustic character.

Of course, big orch ensemble patches work better on higher voice count polys like the Rev2, but still can create some really nice orch type sounds on T5.

Very illustrating pic you got there, thanks.
It's probably one of the most enhancing features with voice panning in modern synths too that makes it sound much fuller as our ears/brain mix everything together. All those harmonics from different positions with reflections all over.

One reason why live acoustic orchestral music always beats recorded music in a concert hall.
- well, when sound engineers does not take over with those megawatt systems
