Pro3 uneven keys fix?

Pro3 uneven keys fix?
« on: August 22, 2021, 07:31:25 PM »
I just got my Pro 3 se today and within the first 10 min of playing I noticed that there are two black keys that sit much lower than all the rest and have noticeably less ‘travel’. I actually felt it (while playing) before I saw it ...as its pretty distracting. Everything else is completely uniform with the exception of these two keys (Eb2 and Bb3). They also don't appear that they’ve been physically damaged in any way... they’re both just sitting very low.
I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this and how easy or difficult it might be to open it up and fix it myself or if this is a bad idea. Any feedback is welcome. Thanks!

I'd recommend contacting Sequential support. They'll likely provide details on opening the keyboard to check those keys. Sounds like a potential spring issue with those keys.

Okay thx. I have seen numerous posts about how easy and accessible it is to open up this synth, so I thought perhaps it might not be a big deal. I’ve opened up other synths to change disk drives, batteries, RAM/ROM and lubricate a keybed in the past (Wavestation) so I’m not totally new at this ....but yeah I guess I’ll check with sequential first.

Yeah it’s easy to access but always best to get support’s instructions first.
