Seeing as "wobbly pots" is now back on the agenda, I've observed that the pots on mine become noticeably more wobbly when the unit warms up, and are less so when it cools down. This leads me to conclude that the lubricant within the potentiometer casing is the issue, allowing more play in the shaft as it warms up and naturally becomes less viscous.
So I what your saying is actually the experience I get. Basically the Knobs wiggle more when warm, but some do when not, just not as much. Your right. It is the lubricant used.
I actually don't mind the pots at all anymore, even though some knobs/pots have become more loose over time, I do find it more of joy to use at times over my Pro3SE and TEO5 because the pots aren't so stiff. My Pro3 is worked in a lot more than the TEO5, but when using the OB6 after stiff knobs(which will wear in over time and just haven't yet), it feels nice. It's not like the Pots don't function properly, or have become "too loose". If it does, I believe they will help ya out.
They still have the best customer service of any synth company I know of, and I haven't heard of many issues of pots with the OB6 or P6, so that tells you something. They are pretty damn durable.
I've had about a dozen or so synths over the years, mostly Korgs, Moogs and such, but none of them were Sequentials. I did have friend/roomate with a handful Sequential synths, but I wasn't hands on with those instruments in their studio so I didn't know what to expect as far as feel. I came from the Sub37 and Prologue16 to the Pro3SE and OB6 Keyboard. Since my first Sequential purchase was the OB6 and the PRO3, they feel very different as far as pots so it had me confused even though they were obviously completely different, and created like 5 years apart.
Also, when I got my OB6 and made this post originally, I noticed it might have shifted in the box a bit(I had previous issues with the store I bought it from as far as how there shippers handle there merch), and such, so maybe that had something to do with the pots, but overall, I am very happy with my purchase and have zero regrets.
