Modulation matrix resolution lower than LFOs?

Modulation matrix resolution lower than LFOs?
« on: June 15, 2021, 12:11:17 PM »
I notice that when I use the Mod Matrix to assign LFO 1 to, say, Audio Mod, and give it an amount of 127 in both the Mod Matrix and the LFO itself, the effect is much less pronounced than if I directly assign the LFO to the Audio Mod. I noticed this with other parameters, too.

I tried to do some research and did see the stickied thread here 'Rev 2 Appendix F' by Creative Spiral which mentions that "Using LFO to modulate OSC FREQUENCY has a different resolution than using the MOD MATRIX to OSC FREQ."  Which is the same as I am finding for the other parameters, but that thread only specifically mentions Osc Freq, I am wondering if what I am seeing is expected behaviour? I guess it is, though I don't understand why the Mod Matrix is in essence less powerful if so?

Thank you

Oh, I guess it's because the Mod Matrix allows you to invert the modulation source, so technically +127 really is +64, and -127 is in fact -64, maybe?
