Possible to use Rev2 as midi controller for DAW AND use sustain pedal?

I have the Rev2 hooked up via USB. Using Logic and some Kontakt piano libraries. When I plug in an M-Audio sustain pedal to the Rev2, it doesn't seem to be passing that info to the DAW when being used as a Midi controller. I tried setting Local Control to off/on and it makes no difference. Anyone else set up something like this?
