hi, i noticed in the sound tower librarian that presets are tagged by category bass/lead/etc.

is there a way to browse by category on the synth itself?

thanks

Unfortunately, no.   There have been a lot of requests for improved patch navigation/categorization interfaces on Seq instruments...  hopefully this is something they will consider for future updates or new instruments.   It's really nice to be able to browse by type.

Many sound designers (myself included) name all their patches with standardized patch prefixes like BAS, STR, PAD, BRS, LED, etc.   I always try to organize my banks with similar sounds grouped together, so I can quickly audition sounds when writing, or jamming with others.

Thanks Dave!!

Yeah, the "Mass and Motion" Soundset is about 3/4 paraphonic motion and arp patches - and 1/4 fundamental tones (basses, synths, leads, etc)

For the motion patches, I tried to make them highly playable/versatile patches.   Often. when you get motion patches on a synth, they are sort of one-trick-ponies that play out their sequence in a more rigid fashion (either the melody or harmonic content is more set in place)...  For the motion patches in this bank, most of the melodic content is programmed via the Mod Sequencer with strategic intervals on certain steps (mostly Oct, P5, P4).   So, the patches can be played in any key / adapt to your song's harmony, and be highly consonant.
