prophet 08 - loud keys / going prices
« on: March 15, 2021, 05:06:09 AM »
i'm about to sell my p08. haven't used it in a long while and noticed how loud and clacky the keys are compared to a prophet 6. is this normal or is there some kind rubber or felt that got old?

and what are the going prices for a p08?

thanks!

The keys on my P08 are a touch louder than the P6 which sounds pretty well muted actually, but there isn't a huge difference. No idea if some wearing or parts getting old can cause them to get louder.

In regards prices they seem to vary a bit, in recent times from memory I've seen them listed around the £1,200-£1,600 mark here in the UK, unsure elsewhere.

the keys on mine are significantly louder. like no muting at all. some more than others. think i'll have to open it up and have a look before selling.

oh that much? i thought they'd be much less than a rev2.

Moin,

there are only few P08 for sale in Germany, realistic prices range from about 800 Euros for the module and >1000 up to 1200 Euros for the keyboard (ebay currently shows a >2000 keyboard from Japan ::) ...)
I am waiting for the module falling below 500 Euros to buy one myself in order to increase voices, a matter of comfort, not necessity. Selling my P08 keyboard however will definitely concern my children 8)

Key noises of my P08 BTW seem quite normal to me (built 2013, bought February 2014)
