The P08/Mopho/Tetra style synths have two oscillators whose level is controlled by a single amplifier envelope. What if you want to use different envelopes for each oscillator, like having one oscillator be a quick transient sound while the other oscillator continues to hold?
This is a good time to use Envelope 3. Select "Osc Mix" as the destination for Envelope 3, and then turn the Osc Mix all the way to the left (so that only Oscillator 1 sounds). Then adjust Envelope 3 to control the relative mix of Oscillator 2.
