Tempest sync via Cubase issue

I am having issues with synching Tempest in Cubase, both 8.5 and 10.
Regardless how i set it, like external VST or just an audio track, when i send timecode via usb, i see Tempest reading the external tempo, but it only plays first note in the beat and then stops.
On Tempest, I have set it as a slave, Midi In as USB. I also tried to sync it via my audio interface, via MIDI cables, but it did not result in it detecting the Master Clock.
Any ideas?

figured it out - i had to tick off follow and stop functions. Not really a problem, but i wonder why is this an issue.
