Sequencer auto start

If this has been duplicated somewhere I apologize. I searched the forum and couldn't find anything; I also searched the manual to no avail.

The sequencer on my OB6 automatically starts when press play from my DAW (Ableton). The only way I know to turn this off is in my MIDI settings in the DAW by toggling the MIDI Output Sync button. However this doesn't transmit tempo data, thus rendering the arpeggiator inoperative. Am I missing a way to disable the auto start?

Most DAWs send the MIDI Start command when you initiate playback, which is what's causing the sequencer in your OB-6 to start playing back when Ableton starts playing back. There are a few ways to get around this, both in hardware and in software, but the easiest thing to do is probably to set the MIDI Clock global in your OB-6 to "nSS", which translates to, "sync me to external MIDI Clock, but ignore MIDI Start/Stop commands".
