Volume Fluctuations

Volume Fluctuations

So I've had the Pro 3 for a while now and in general Im loving it.

One thing I'm noticing is that I'm getting quite a dip in volume on some bass preset sounds on the synth.
Fluctuations that are a couple of db!
Now I don't know if this is just me failing to get a grasp of phasing layered oscillators or if its something to do with the synth?
(All LFOs, FX and off/bypassed)

I have a Pro6 and i don't seem to have this same issue if I layer oscs to make a bassline.

Anyone else here experiencing anything like this?

So over the months I've owned it, I've come to learn that the Pro-3 is a temperamental beast when it comes to volume.  If you have all 3 oscillators running full tilt into the filter, chances are that you're going to overdrive the filter.  This may result in the sound breaking up some, and thus making the synth kind of "bottom out" and lose bass response.

Try rolling back the volume of the oscillators some to see if that helps.  You may have to compensate for the lost volume with either the master volume or the preamp on your audio interface, mixer or whatever.  Furthermore, when designing future patches you'll want to keep headroom in mind so you have space to get louder when needed.

Clips might help. But there will be natural volume fluctuation with 2 oscillators just due to Osc phase. You can prevent it through hard syncing or wave reset.
