Trouble REV2 loading patches using soundtower on Windows 10

Trouble REV2 loading patches using soundtower on Windows 10
« on: August 22, 2020, 12:51:56 AM »
Hi All, I am new to this but in soundtower under MIDI it has an RECEIVE BANK,  When I do this it loads like 7 of the patches then freezes.   IF I set the MS to 700 ms I sometimes get like 60 patches but never all 128, it always freezes.

I cannot seem to get any patches loaded into the REV2 either, as soon as I try the software freezes until I remove the USB.

I am Using the USB out to USB on a windows 10 machine.

I have confirmed all midi settings in REV2 are on for accepting and receiveing program changes and I can get the USB link to play sounds off the REV2 from the virtual keyboard.

Also I can change the settings in a patch so the REV2 sounds different when I hit the same key on the virtual keyboard so the REV2 is taking parameter changes.... So midi IN and midi Out seem to be working ?????

All help appreciated.

I don't know about SoundTower, but you could give the free KnobKraft Orm a spin, it will try to autodetect the Rev2 by sending a MIDI message to all MIDI outs, and listen on all MIDI ins to confirm it has bidirectional communication with the synth. If that works, you could try to load banks or send patches to edit buffer with the software to confirm general functionality.

It is free to download at https://github.com/christofmuc/KnobKraft-orm/releases
