Help trying to get Nick Batts' tasty metallic modulation sounds

I am having some trouble trying to get this wonderful metallic modulation sound from the internal routing of the Pro-3. In this example at 33:33 (link should take you right to the time) Nick has CV routed from an external synth (Dreadbox Nyx v2) Osc 2 out (saw shape) and is using that to modulate the Oscillator level of the Pro-3 oscillator 1. I am trying to get something similar using the modulations available within the Pro-3 itself, but am having a bit of trouble. When I route Oscillator 2 of the Pro-3 to Oscillator Level of Oscillator 1, I do hear a bit of modulation, but it sounds nothing like the harmonics in the example. Maybe my routing is flawed and there's a better source to use for achieving these sonics?

After playing around I made a little progress. I used the triangle for Oscillator 1, 2, and 3, and sent them to modulate each other's coarse fine amounts.
