Any reason why the REV2 has taken +23% price increase?
Good time to sell on second hand market I guess

On what planet have you been for the last few months? Ever heard of the coronavirus-induced global recession on earth? ;-)

Had a quick look on Thomann UK and it is the same.
Maybe you're looking somewhere else?

Like if I was living in a cave for the last 3 months? I did and totally look like a caveman!! ;D
But honestly I don't see why/how covid shall impact a synthesizer price especially when some other brands didn't move even though they are not available for sales, probably because they are made in China.

What prices are you comparing as a matter of interest? I looked on Andersons and Gear4Music and the prices don’t seem high to me. When I bought 16 voice version I paid roughly what they’re selling for now.... unless the price dropped a lot after that but I don’t think that DSI gear has large price decreases?

I bought an 8 voices about £1100 and on Thomann and it is now £1457 on andertons and £1425 on Thomann.
I see £1299 on Andertons which is the cheapest at the moment. I assume they all include VAT.

I’ve never seen it as low as what you bought yours for! Are you sure it wasn’t B stock or ex-display?

Excellent price then :) I've been looking at all other synth prices over the last couple of months and not noticed any real changes in the UK. I must admit that I very rarely look at the Rev2 prices though as I've already got it  ;D

USA prices remain the same as they've always been.   $1499 for 8-Voice, $1999 for 16-Voice.

Probably has a bit to do with USD/UKD exchange rates.  UK Pound has been generally dropping in value compared to USD over the past few years.   So 5-15% increase in relative UK price is probably due to that... depending on when you purchased.   I see Andertons at $1299 now, which, considering current exchange rate seems about right, if not a good deal for UK buyers.

Also, it seems like there has been a surge in demand for video and music equipment since the start of lockdowns, as well as a global decrease in supply/manufacturing capability... so there may be some supply/demand consideration factoring into retailers decisions.   The Rev2 does seem to still be in stock at most places, though other synths, pro audio equipment, and video gear I've been following is out of stock at a lot of places.

I bought my Rev2 for about 1860€ and now it is 1999€ at Thomann Germany. But that is not something special. I'm watching DSI gear prices for years now and I think that's in the usual variation range, at least here in Germany. It's still cheaper than when it first came out in 2017. It was about 2200€ then.

Just had a look at the current price(s) on Thomann, and thought it was kind of odd that the 8-voice key version is cheaper than the module, with the reverse relationship on the 16-voice:

Rev2 -8 Key 1.345 €
Rev2 -8 Module 1.369 €
Rev2 -16 Key 1.999 €
Rev2 -16 Module 1.899 €

Prices today are even reaching 2300 € for the rev2 16 keyboard, 1666 € for rev2 8 keyboard. Components from China are getting more expansive. The fun fact, that Prophet 6 and OB 6 are not increasing so much, I hope it wont change, but tobe honest we must rather hope they keep them producing. I think rev2 should not be considered as acheaper P6 alternative any more. It has its own strenghs.

Wow, I hadn't checked the prices on Thomman for a while - my jaw just dropped. I bought mine for €1,300 in 2018 and now it's a whopping over 50% more expensive :o
