Evolver Capacitor burned to a crisp
« on: December 12, 2023, 01:59:22 AM »
Hi Folks,

Got that horrible smell when I powered on my evolver yesterday.... One of the caps has popped, who knows what colateral damage there could be.

Anyone had an evolver repaired?

Cheers

Oh no! you're scaring me.  I want my Evolver to last forever :'(   Actually I never had an issue with PEK or the desktop, other than the encoder thing where one got really bad.  They sent me a replacement and I soldered it in. Not a pretty job, but it worked.

Sorry to hear! Sequential still repairs all of the legacy DSI synths - reach out to support@sequential.com and we will help you out.

Using the right PSU? Should be 13-15 VDC, at least 400mA current with center pin positive. Probably best to not power it on again.
