Tails cut when looping audio in Ableton

Tails cut when looping audio in Ableton

I’ve been struggling a bit wrapping my head around recording audio from the Rev2 in Ableton.

I’ve been using the External instrument to track midi and then rendering it to an audio track from there. In both arrangement and session my audio clips recorded from the Rev2 cut hard before they loop in session view, or play the repeated clip in arrangement. If I’m using an EI track with midi it smoothly transitions.

Is there a workaround for this? I’m entirely stumped. I’m new to using hardware synths in Ableton. Is it possible to keep my tails and have smooth loops/repeated clips? Is there a way to have multiple external instruments with different presets playing on the Rev2? I feel like I’m missing something here. Any guidance is greatly appreciated
