Will there ever be a new OS?

Will there ever be a new OS?
« on: January 10, 2020, 07:47:10 AM »
Just wondering what people on here think. Are we ever going to get an OS that fixes the few remaining bugs or are they done updating the rev2? I'd love it if the arp was fixed as well as the gated sequencer behavior when using Creative Spiral's stereo/binaural VCM tracks. I mean at this point I'm guessing no, but here's hoping someone on here has some insight and that we might see a new OS down the road.

I'd like second that sentiment.. We havnt had an update in ages.. or even word that there is one in the pipeline.. And I think after the substantial cost of the rev2 us users deserve a finished product!!

Yeah, I am hoping that the bug with the Gated Seq in stack mode will be addressed (Ticket #48090).   It definitely would allow greater expansion of the Rev2's voice modeling capabilities and rhythmic sequencing/modulation capabilities.

I'm guessing they are nearing release of a new product, and that's why we haven't seen a firmware update...  Not sure if they'll be addressing any of the feature requests in that very good thread, but hoping we'll at least see bug fixes.

Hopefully, we'll hear some news on this soon, and a new synth to drool over too.

There is an update in the pipeline.  I don't know when it will arrive, but it's coming.

That's great news!  Crossing my fingers that the bug with the Gated Seq in stack mode will be addressed (Ticket #48090).

This awesome news, on yet another remarkably shitty day. Can't wait to see what they fix.

I'm happy, too.  If that update were released today, I'd finally get a Rev2...or two...or three....

Above all, if there is a firmware update, it needs to complete the original promise of the synth of having full bitimbral operation, as promised, stated, and not yet delivered, after 3 years. The Rev2 is great, and  has every other provision and intention of being fully bitimbral, except it does not have independent pitchbend, modwheel, or aftertouch repsonse on each layer. This is the largest issue of all. If you don't think so at first, please consider if you would consider a synth to be a synth without pitchbend and modwheel controller response. Pitchbend epically first and foremost, and modwheel also a very big deal. Aftertouch is part of the synth, so it should be independently responded as well. https://forum.sequential.com/index.php/topic,4229.0.html

I'm actually hours away from returning this 16 voice kb rev2. I will email Sequential today and ask one more time for any guidance. But I don't expect any. If the controller issue is resolved I would repurchase it, I can't count on that without any guidance. So I am returning it. I may get an 8 voice instead later even if that issue is not resolved. But the undelivered promise was driving the value of the 16 for me. And it's been kept very quiet so I did see of it despite reading the manual etc before buying it.
