Request to synth programmers: Oberheim Patches

Request to synth programmers: Oberheim Patches
« on: July 04, 2020, 09:55:27 AM »
Hey
I would very much like to buy some oberheimish patches for REV2. Since my programming skills are very limited, I am calling on the good programmers on this forum to develop some sounds inspired by the OB-X, OB-Xa and Matrix 12. I guess it would be easier to buy an OB-6, but I just sold my Prophet 6 because voice stealing was too annoying. It would also be easier to buy a vintage Oberheim synth, but you would have to sell a kidney.

Anyway, I leave you my idea, because I would definitely buy patches inspired by the Oberheim sound, especially considering that the overabundance of vst clones that are going around, it seems that Oberheim is back in fashion (ever was not?)

Regards

Hey @tearyhistory -
I uploaded some free patches here:
https://www.presetpatch.com/user/CreativeSpiral

These two might be of interest to you, as they are specifically modeled from OBX voice modeling measurements.

STR_Subdiv_OBX_VCM.syx  - this is my take on Rush's Subdivisions synth sound

VCM_8V2O_(IIJG)_INIT_Template.syx - this is a template patch I created that is setup with voice modeling based on measurements I took from several OBX/OBXA synths I recorded.   (it's meant to act as an Init patch, which you can model your own sounds from)... just don't change the fine tuning, gated sequencer, or mod slots setup for voice modeling.

I've got a patch bank available with 128 voice modeled patches, including many inspired by OB sounds:
https://sellfy.com/sounddesign/p/figz/

If you want to read more about my research into voice variance, I wrote up a paper here:
http://www.voicecomponentmodeling.com/

And there's a thread on this forum where it is discussed in detail:
https://forum.sequential.com/index.php/topic,3449.0.html

If you have any questions about voice modeling, feel free to shoot me a msg, or ask here, or the voice modeling thread... am glad to help.   Cheers, Jason
