New Tempest Owner here! :)

New Tempest Owner here! :)

Hi There!

Today I got my new Tempest!  :)

What a beautiful machine and it’s built like a tank. The Hardware is very well crafted!
After reading half of the manual my first steps into it went very well. It’s quite intuitive to use for a beginner like me. Tempest sounds amazing!

I bought it mainly for experimental stuff, Berlin School style and ambient music. I’m wondering it would be a good choice for my needs or not. I’m not very much interested in EDM music but I hope Tempest will glance also in different downtempo genres. Love that I can use Tempest also as an melodic Synthesizer and not only for Drums and percussions.

Because I don’t have any experience with this machine and in Drum-Synthesis in general I hope I get some help here if needed.

If you know some good resources for learning, Soundpatches etc. please let me know!
Thank you!

But for today I’m very happy with my new Tempest!
I think my DSI-Equipment is now complete! Love the quality of the DSI gear! :)

Many greetings from Berlin!

Thanks a lot for your welcome @Yorgos!
Many useful and helpful links you posted here. Thank you!

After my first day with the Tempest I figured out some of the major features regarding workflow. I’ve just struggles with two things up to now. First is the Solo Button, after using it turns off voices instead soloing them. At one point all voices turned off and i don’t now why. The only way to turn the voices on again was also the Solo button. A little bit confusing.

The second thing, I cannot figure out how to play and sequence Synths with an attached Keyboard via Midi. I think I miss something in the global settings.

OK, I found the Midi Polyphonic Keyboard Play settings.
It seems that I can just set one Synth Sound at a Time? So when I want to play another Synth Sound I need to change these Settings again right?

Funny after I found this setting I also found this video which answered my question...

Tundrah Sounds did a great video series about the Tempest!  :)

Hope I will understand all the different Midi Settings!

Yes, but depending on what you want to do you can also use alternate beats for this. So you could duplicate the same beat but have a different synth sound on B16 (or whatever you have the polyphonic synth sound set to). Now switch beats and the synth sound will change but everything else will stay the same.
