OB-6 Default Program as "Manual"?

A question for DSI, or anyone with an OB-6, while I wait for mine to arrive in Toronto...

The manual reads:

Pressing the globals button three times in a row saves the current program as the default program that appears when you turn on the OB-6.

If I do this while in "Manual" (panel) mode, will the synth power up this way?  I think that's how I'd generally like it to power up.

The P6 and OB6 will only boot to the saved default program, not into their live panel modes. Fortunately, the live panel (Preset Off on the P6 and Manual On on the OB6) is only 1 button press away!
