Custom patches sharing.
« on: March 09, 2016, 01:09:30 PM »
I asked to create this thread in hopes of helping fellow Prophet 6 users in designing custom patches. I was inspired by my previous thread where I asked for help in nailing down a specific synth tone that was used for the Death Wish 2 soundtrack. For example if someone wanted to create a "Jump" patch we would help them in giving them a run down of what to do. Sort of a reference guide to famous and original patches that everyone here can exchange.

Describe with some detail one of your own favorite patches, or a trick you've discovered in using the Prophet-6, and people may respond.  Some times it takes an effort to get a discussion going.

I'm working on a bank of patches to share for the Prophet 6. Was looking for a thread with other members .syx attachments, but haven't found the one yet so am posting here. I'll reference this thread when I upload if I do find a better thread.

The basis of the bank is recreating the 15 Factory Patches from the Moog Source - as seen in the patch sheets in back of the Source manual. Yes, I know that's not a Sequential/DSI product, but it's fun, and the P6 and Source share a couple of features, like half or full keyboard filter mod.

More info to come, but patches 001-0015 will be as close to 1:1 recreations as I can get from the patch sheets and by listing to online samples/videos of the Source (not lucky enough to have access to one). Patches 021-035 will be alternate version of those recreations using seq/arp and sublet additions of features the P6 has that the Source didn't - there are plenty of those, but I'll try to keep it tame then others can mangle to their heart's delight.

--adding youtube link of a great Source video of the factory patches and a link to the manual. The last chapter are the 15 patch sheets. #16 is not really a preset. Seems like it was more of an extra location to swap and paste while reorganizing patches.

Here are variations 1 and 2. Programmed from Moog Source factory patch sheets in the back of the Source manual. I haven't A/B'd these against actual Source sounds yet. That's next but thought I would share these as they are before further tweaking. These sets match the Moog settings and are edited to be usable even if they don't sound exactly like the Source.

See READ ME notes for which user patches these 10's files will write over, and for other notes on performance controls, etc.

Adding .syx files without the .zip in case anyone is opening in a mobile app, such as Sysex Base.

Here's a repair tech playing Source presets 1-15 as a comparison.
https://youtu.be/o6jCdN8GQ5Q?t=192

now that my P6 is out of storage again I'll try to get the Sourcery bank presets sounding closer to the real thing. But if anyone's already tried that please share your results! :D

I had to sell my P6 so never got the chance to polish these any further, but would be excited if anyone else wants to load them up and compare to the real Moog Source preset from various videos out there.

30 free patches based on Moog patch sheets for Source presets, lovingly adapted for P6 :)
