BPM fluctuating in Midi Clock: Slave mode

BPM fluctuating in Midi Clock: Slave mode
« on: July 25, 2019, 12:08:17 PM »
I am trying to sync my P12 with Ableton's clock but the BPM always fluctuates when I start the clock in Ableton, making it very difficult to get a good sounding recording.  I've searched the forums a lot and have seen a lot of similar behavior with the REV models and different DAWs (especially Logic).  I'm wondering if anyone has experienced similar behavior or has found a solution.  I tried switching from a USB connection to a MIDI cable and still get the same behavior.  Thank you for your help!

Hey,
It sounds like you're experiencing MIDI jitter. Computers are notoriously inaccurate with external MIDI clock output, especially when it's trying to compute multiple things at the same time.
I tightened up my system with the Expert Sleepers USAMO. It converts Audio to MIDI though a plugin that lives in the session. Before that, I had the same issues, but that little device fixed it up lickitysplit.
 Cheers.
