I use the code knobs interface with my OB6, then use 2 max for live devices in Ableton, namely pitchbend with LFO 2 assigned to it to get a nice pitch warble going.

I find it better than the one you can get with the actual ob6 lfo. I wonder did they get something wrong with the onboard LFO? It seems way too responsive and almost unusable for pitch modulation, as anything above about 8 to 10 is too intense, surely this can’t be right? I keep trying to make juno 106 style pitch warbles but it’s always a challenge.

Anyway the issue I have using my system with the pitch bend wheel and external lfo is that it all works fine unless you want to do a pitch bend at some out of whatever amount of Semitones but you can’t because the pitch bend is tied up.

Can anyone suggest a workaround or ways to get / use other software lfos etc?

I saw that someone had made a hardware option for more lfos, is there a software equivalent?

Any suggestions for adding extra logs to control the same functionality?

Someone has made a multi LFO device. I have seen them show it on the OB6 users forum on Facebook. I think it is general LFOs not LFOs per voice of course because that would have to be on the voice cards themselves.
I think he's got a demo on YouTube somewhere. I can't vouch for it but I saw it.
I guess the thing with the sensitivity of the Wheel modulation to OSC1 or OSC1 frequency is that they chose whatever range as a maximum (maybe an ovtave or more?) and therefore yo udon't get very fine control over it. If the control was finer, someone might say they can't have enough range on it. You really need a coarse and a fine, one with a range of +/- 1-5 octaves or even more for wild swings in frequency for effects and one for musical vibrato, with a maximum range of about +/- 1 tone max.
If you had more than one LFO it would be possible to have one of them do fine and one do coarse.

VCO2 in LFO mode, and turn on a chorus and/or phaser effect to get the oscillator movement back. The chorus on the OB-6 is much smoother than just a fixed detune between the VCOs anyway.

I picked up a midi to CV converter from Kenton Instruments for a different purpose, but handy enough,  this "MK3" has a built in lfo.  Just connect a 1/8 to 1/4 inch patch cord to your filter in jack.  Fully adjustable: rates, sync,  different shapes, start points.  This allows the filter to be modulated by LFO, but frees up your onboard lfo(s) for other destinations.

This never occurred to me...the filter input is setup for a passive potentiometer pedal running 0-5V; at least that is my understanding. Like all expression pedals, that is a TRS connector and uses all three connect points.

CV cables are 2-wire and my understanding is they provide a voltage signal (the well-known 1V/octave for pitch). You are suggesting that the 5V source on the TRS socket is high enough impedance that I can, for example, plug the output of a modular LFO directly in as a TS connection and just overwhelm the TRS source? ...e.g. I have an Arturia Minibrute 2S sitting next to my OB-6...can I just patch in the LFO (which is a good one and both synths are synced to a master clock)?

I bought the MB2S used for just slightly more than the cost of the MK3 Kenton and have been using it for bass lines with a Keystep...also with some minor Eurorack kit I've collected. Never occurred to me that the pedal inputs on the OB-6 could be CV ready.

Does anybody know what the maximum CC rate (8-bit CC messages per second) is for the OB-6?

I'm able to use the Keystep cv out to do rhythmic "lfo".   The cv out of a Pittsburgh Foundation modular lfo, as well as the Kenton MK3 that I just mentioned, all work fine going into the OB6 the peddle input.   Obviously some adjusting is needed to hone in what you want with any of these options.  For example,  on the modular output I attenuate the lfo out signal-  but syncing of the lfo needs done manually.   The Keystep, you cannot attenuate, so the only control you would have is the filter cutoff on the OB6 itself.   Getting rhythmic "lfo" can be had from the Pro 2 as well.   Quite frankly, it's a lot of screwing around to get what is useful.  But with the Kenton MK3, I found to be useful and easy enough to add a nice dimension to the OB6 without going all the way and getting the Expander.  The Expander of course adds much more capability.

I believe they mean the input is unipolar, not bipolar. It won't hurt anything feeding it negative voltage you just need to attenuate the lfo untell you get the full waveshape.

They indicated that it 'might' cause problems if negative voltages were fed in.

Do you or anyone else have personal experience?...there are so many caveats about MIDI bandwidth that I'm wondering about taking the dive. I'm using a MOTU MidiExpress XT (better than MidiSports, but still wonky). Has been glitch-free

LFOs with Envelopes?  :D

Four modulation 'slots' which can affect the synth globally, ie not per-voice:
1. Envelope or sequencer. The Envelope has 6 stages and 8 knobs and can be looped in two ways. The sequencer can be 8 or 16 steps, and clocked by midi clock, key of by LFO1.
2. and 3. identical LFOs with 10 waveforms, wave shaping (e.g. vary tri between ramp up through trioangle to ramp down...)
4. more complex LFO3 which includes an extra LFO for S/H triggering and the creation of complex repeating patterns.

Each slot can be multiplied by: velocity; aftertouch; gate on; gate off; mod wheel; external CV; note; one of the other 3 modulators or by itself. So it's really easy to set up an LFO multiplied by the mod wheel etc. Each modulator can be set to a constant Max level, so that when multiplied by velocity etc., the slot sends just velocity, aftertouch etc.

The envelope/sequencer and LFO 3 also have a multiply amount knob so that they can be multiplied by less than the full amount of the Multiplier, so for example you can have LFO 3 multiplied by some velocity not all velocity. All slots have positive and negative amounts.

Each modulator can be triggered seperately by key on, key re-triger, or midi clock with the same clock dividers as the OB-6/P6.

Each slot can be sent to one of about 50 destinations or to CV out and 2 or more slots can be summed to the same destination if required.

All 3 LFOs have adjustable start delay, fade in and can be set to run continuously or just 1-9 cycles.
