No Free-Running Envelopes?

No Free-Running Envelopes?

So today I sat down at the P'08 to make some sounds (bells etc.) which would run their course even if the key was released.  And found that it appears to be impossible.

On my Matrix 1000, I can set any envelope to "DADR + Free Run", meaning that the envelope is started when you press a key, there's no sustain stage, and the envelope finishes on its own, ignoring when you release the key.  This is called a "One Shot" envelope on the Blofeld, etc.  Not so on the P'08 it seems.

Does anyone have any tricks for how to get the P'08 to ignore key release?

Just use a sustain pedal and keep it pressed down, noting will go to release phase. If you change polarity, or if you use a foot switch instead of a sustain pedal, you don't even have to keep it pressed down.
