Strange Prophet 08 and ableton live interaction

I'm a new DSI owner, hence this is my first post.

My DSI Prophet 08 is having some strange interactions with Ableton live. Here is an example:

1. Set up the synth via the external instrument, Midi routed via Fireface UCX.
2. Select a patch.
3. Load up a midi clip, hit play.

Things get weird here. If I noodle around on the synth, changing parameters via the synth everything is fine. If I drag an fx plug-in onto the external instrument the synth detunes. If I select another track in ableton, the synth detunes. Specifically, both oscillators detune to C 0.  I don't understand why selecting another track would send information to the prophet. Anyone had a similar experience?

In Live->Preferences->Link/Midi make sure that the midi settings for your P8 output have the Remote set off.
