global setting: MIDI out select: thru - not working for me
« on: April 08, 2019, 07:09:55 PM »
I want to send notes to my Tetra in multi-mode (channels 1-4), set MIDI out to thru, and then have those messages be caught by a Korg Volca Beats listening on channel 5 for 7 different sounds depending on the notes.  Not sure what I'm doing wrong.  Should Global setting: MIDI Channel: be set to all or 1?

I have a macbook running reaper and am connected to the Tetra through USB.  My Tetra is connected from the MIDI out to the MIDI in of the Volca Beats.  The settings on my Volca Beats, I'm very sure are correct.

Page 39 of the manual says, "MIDI Out and USB can be used at the same time and transmit the same data." *shrug*

OK.  That's it.  The unit does not behave the way it should.  The Soundtower software sucks.  I've wasted enough time with all of this.  I'm done.  I'm selling the unit on Craig's list.  I'm never buying another DSI/Sequential product again.  I'll probably get a Roland Integra 7 or some such.  Don't bother responding to these postings.
