Prophet 6 MIDI question

Hi all,
I'm hoping this is not a total newbie MIDI question, but I want to use my Doepfer Dark Time as master and Prophet 6 as slave. I then want to use MIDI from the Dark Time to the Prophet but have the Prophet play its sequencer in time with CLock from the Dark Time, whilst ignoring the melodic sequence on the Dark Time and instead sending that melodic sequence straight to my Korg Poly 800 connected to the P6's MIDI OUT or THRU. Is that possible or is the P6 always going to play the melody from the Dark Time (thereby doubling the melody line with the Poly 800).
So in summary P6 following MIDI clock but ignoring MIDI notes values and instead passing them on to next instrument in the MIDI chain.
