Hi, I was wondering whatever happened to the Prophet5 forums ? I can't find them anymore and I had a account there and used them for info and knowledge on my Prophet 5 rev.2 when I needed. No other place had people that knew so much about them.

I need some help again. lol Anyway, google searching brought me here and I signed up. Sadly I see this place seems to be for only the newer synths ?

I was curious if anyone knew the next best forum place for old Prophet 5 knowledge ? If not, could anyone help me here ? If so, which board would be the most appropriate ?

Thanks for all your help in advance !

The old DSI/Prophet forum was ruined by pornography and other spam, as well as a long-term absence of administrative care.  I don't know if it's temporarily or permanently down.  And you're right, this official forum is primarily for the newer instruments.  But feel free to start a Prophet 5 thread down in the General Synthesis-Other Hardware/Software area.  You might attract a whole new group of people.

Thanks, I will do that. Hopefully Dave will see fit one day to allow a individual board dedicated to each of his past instruments here on these forums. It could be categorized in a forum board called "Legacy Products" or "Vintage Products", then sub forums in that board would be each instrument individually. To me they were the best. I personally own a Prophet 5 rev. 2 and a Studio 440 drum machine. They get monthly use at least and find their way onto a professional song of mine at least every 3rd song minimum.

That's a good idea.  You should email Sequential directly and see what they think of it.

When you start a thread, just make it clear in the title that you're referring to the Prophet 5.  Especially with a Prophet '08 Rev2 in existence, folks won't be expecting to see a discussion about the vintage instrument.

AFAIK, there's no specific forum for the older stuff.

There are these dedicated Prophet-5 sites:
http://users.telenet.be/prophet-5/
http://www.synthmania.com/Prophet-5%20(Rev.3).htm
https://sites.google.com/site/klmar016/home/synth/prophet5

And there's of course David Abernethy's The Prophet from Silicon Valley: The Complete Story of Sequential Circuits, which is a great printed resource for all things vintage Sequential.

Paul, thanks man ! You know that last link is really helpful because it has the Factory Bank Patches ! All 3 of them. Not only for the Pro5 rev.2 but also Rev.3. Oh and the guy there is some genius or something cause he invented these programs that convert the audio file saves to patch list versions to be able to manually dial them in too. On top of that he invented some program that converts the audio saves to sysex files for midi transferring ! Pretty dope man !

Thanks again guys for all the help here, it caused me to get what I needed and quickly ! This is a great place.
