Send SysEx file via USB?

I am having troubles with my Prophet XL and are in touch with the support group, and yesterday he sent me a sysx file to try to revert to a earlier OS, but gave me none instructions on how to do it..
So I have been searching the net and found out that I need to send it from my mac to the device, but I cant seem to make it work? Is it possible to do it via the USB cable or do I need to find a USB to Midi adaptor?

Im living in Denmark so due to the timedifference he will first answer me tonight, so thats why I hope some of you can answer me before so I can get on playing with my Prophet XL :-)
