Ghetto Bandpass Filter Possible?

Ghetto Bandpass Filter Possible?

Anyone have modulation setting to move the digital HP and analog LP filters in tandem to create a bandpass like effect that can maintain the same distance between each filter when modulated?

Can’t you just route the filter envelope to whichever effect parameter (1 or 2) controls the high pass filter cutoff and assign it the same depth value as the envelope depth set to the lowpass filter? You’d then just set the cutoffs of both filters to whichever spacing you require.

I did essentially that with this patch:

The only caveat is that obviously the high pass filter effect applies to all voices, so it's only going to work with a monophonic patch, unison, and programmed chords.

Another option for faking it is routing the filter envelope to the waveshape. There's a fair amount of tonal difference there so you can get that thinning sound of a band pass with the right settings.

I always thought that the lowpass at moderately high reso settings sounds a bit bandpass, you also get that thinning effect because a lot of the lows are cut out

Try keeping the Lowpass wide open (cutoff 164), and just use the HP Effect at max resonance and mix...

Setup HP Effect:
Cutoff: 0
Resonance: 127
Mix: 127

Route Mod Wheel (or other source):
Destination: Effect Param 1
Amount: 127

At 0-127, with full resonance on the HP filter alone, you get about 7 octave sweep of a decent bandpass effect.
