Prophet 12 velocity curves are the same?...

Prophet 12 velocity curves are the same?...
« on: February 18, 2019, 10:07:19 AM »
My second Prophet 12 keyboard arrived.
The first one had a defective osc 1 select button.
Returned it.

This second one seems to have a completely unusable velocity response.
When playing soft it give values above 100.
I have to play very, very soft and the values are like 8...
There's no range.

Tried all velocity curves but they seem to doesn't make any effect.

It always plays "loud".

Is this a defective keyboard or it's part of the "design"?...

No, it definitely isn't designed that way. Mine plays normally across the velocity ranges, just like any other keyboard.

I'd suggest either returning this one or contacting Sequential's support. Sequential's support has always been very good for me.
Prophet 12, Modal 002, MFB Dominion 1, Behringer DeepMind 12D, Korg Polysix & EX-8000, Roland JX-8P, Ensoniq SQ-80, Kawai K3m and now an OB-6!

Sequential support told me that probably it was normal.
Returned it. Bought a Peak.

Well you certainly don’t have to worry about the keybed on that,😜
Enjoy. 🙂
