Hey Mechamilk,
- I do use slop on the oscillators when I'm trying to sound analog. I ALSO use random on note value to add even more controled unpredictability. Different, but equally valuable, ways to use frequency randomization to emulate analog circuits.
-The only "hard wired" destinations for velocity on the synth are on the envelopes. If you want to affect anything other than envelope amount with velocity, you pretty much need to use the mod matrix as far as I can tell.
I appreciate the suggestions! I was thinking about the second camera. I actually set one up on the last video but it crapped out it me before I was done filming; i used a DSLR with limited recording time. I'll try with another camera on the next one.
As far as reverb: I dont want to add anything to the signal chain that will alter how the synth actually sounds. I would consider reverb a sound design element, and adding it would take away from the analysis of the raw sound of the Prophet 12 itself IMO.
I really appreciate your interest and will have another video up soon.
Cheers!
