New Prophet VS video

It's always fascinating to see another video of this instrument.  What I've never seen but would love to find is a video that places a VS and a PEK side-by-side for comparison purposes.  Certainly they're close relatives, but without that joystick, the Evolver just can't compete.  I wish it could have had a lag processor, so that the digital wave shapes could be morphed one into another with an LFO.

Maybe the next Sequential synth will be just what the doctor ordered.

The new module by Paula Maddox (formerly of Modal Electronics) is roughly related to the VS principle:





The Waveplane oscillator doesn't really reproduce the VS, as it doesn't seem to be possible to detune the four waves from each other. It adds the ability to dynamically change the wave in each corner, though. So you get morphing in each corner in addition to the morphing you'll get if you move between those corners.
