baby's first word

What makes parents happy? Baby's first words of course!
So imagine the joy I experienced when today
my baby rev2 spoke its first word.

It opened its eyes and said...

I wouldn't mind seeing a gallery exhibiting some of the
weirdest sounds you've managed to get out of a rev2 :)

Ha, like this thread. I started practicing sound design on the rev2 by trying to recreate some animal sounds. Pretty much nailed a duck and a meadow with cows. I overwrote those, but will give it another try for this thread :)

Nice man congrats. Gonna dump a few things I spend more time on my Rev2 making weird sounds than I do making music.

Haha, the fourth "vocal stuff" made me laugh. Can you give some clue about how you achieved these "open mouth" sounds?

Audiomod!

I'll do a quick and rough rundown from an init patch. All values are loose. play with them to tailor the sound.

Set cutoff to 60, resonance to 60, Audiomod to 40

Turn Osc Mix all of the way to OSC 2 then turn on OSC 2.

Set OSC 1 to C7.

Now play with the cutoff knob! Vocal Filter FM.

Ah, I finally understand how to work with audio mod now, thanks so much for opening this world of sound for me! (I clearly am a synth novice)

It definitely took me a while to see the potential. On first use, audiomod just seemed to make the sound a bit brighter and fizzy.

The breakthrough was realizing that I dont have to actually be hearing OSC1 to hear its effects on the filter, which led to me playing with OSC 1 at ranges I wouldn't have otherwise.

Now that you have the core down, try modulating OSC 1 in cool ways!
