CC code mapping - Firmware change?

For some reason, many VST apps don't take Midi CC codes above 90.

The Prophet 6 CC codes are nicely grouped in according to the instrument layout, but as a result, some really basic functions that you want to control in VSTs are having a CC number that is higher than 90.

Maybe in a software update the CC codes can be sorted by whether they are basic/essential or not.

For example. The ARP ON/OFF currently has a CC value of 58 (below 90), but it is not very usable when teaching VSTs... The LP filter cut off on the other hand has a CC value of 102, and this is a key function which many VSTs cannot read.

I can say with utmost certainty this will never happen. We adhere to the General MIDI spec and will not deviate. It is surprising to hear many VSTs are not created with the MIDI spec in mind. Perhaps try MIDI mapping within your DAW to receive a MIDI CC and convert it to another CC before passing it to the VST as a workaround.
