Hi All!

I've just released a new 110 Custom Patches for REV2 - for fans of Boards of Canada, Tycho, Tame Impala etc. Created with one layer only - so you can combine them or use in multi-timbral mode.

I totally recommend these patches. If you love this kind of sound, the Synth Patches REVField is an EXTRAORDINARY collection, very 'organic' sounding. Plus, it's a bargain!

Hi synth pals!

For anyone looking for writing session-friendly REV-2 patches, I've designed a set specifically with producers/writers in mind. I found many of the factory patches to be impressive examples of the depths of the mod matrix, but quite unusable in a songwriting session - so these 50 sounds are the kind of thing I've found useful on tour with various artists + when in a writing session.

The set includes 15 Pads, 15 Synths, 10 Basses, 5 Plucky Synths, 3 Leads and 2 FX Synths. :)

For many of the sounds which are single layer only, I've included an alternate version of the sound on Layer B, so there's actually far more than 50 options for starting ideas in here.

See the demo video here:

Cheers,

DM

Here's the Rev 2 patch bank I designed:

Vintage Voice Component Modeling (VCM) Patch Bank
128 patches using advanced modulation techniques to give voice-by-voice offsets for modeling vintage analog synth character and acoustic ensembles. Patches modeled off per-voice-variance measurements taken from several classic synths: OBX, OBXA, Yamaha CS-80, Jupiter 8, Jupiter 4, Polysix, vintage Prophet 5/10, etc..

Also, lots more aftermarket patch banks from various sound designers are listed here:  (and many free patch downloads)

I own a 8 voices and clearly see that many of the factory patches take advantage of layering.
I think it would be good if patch resellers mentioned clearly if patches were designed with 8 voices or 16 voices in mind.

Prophet Rev2 in a more EDM / Modern style
I think that there is no point in writing too much. It's best to go to my website and listen to all the presentations.

Looking for some good patches from other vendors. Thanks

Here's a wide variety of custom patches (175 in total): some bread & butter, some offbeat; spanning bass, pads, keys, modern, retro, experimental - you name it;) I created them with a view in mind that they to be ready-to-use in music or serve as starting points; you can find the textures or the dynamics that you like and tweak them to suit your exact taste or purpose. I tried not to include patches that would overlap with any other soundsets out there, so 90% of my patches should be original-sounding to you, I hope.

Can I use Soundtower to manage these sound sets? I tried to load some patches I got from a free patch site, as sysex files, but got a notification that no Rev 2 data was recognized. I don't know if that means I'm doing something wrong, or if I'm using the wrong software for this task.

I highly recommend checking out Creative Spiral's work - in addition to many well done, well known patches from yesteryear, he succeeds in getting the Rev 2 to breathe like a vintage polysynth.  You can also follow his links to his free template patches which are must-haves.  I got those and was so impressed with what he did, that I decided to buy his patch bank.  If you wish the Rev 2 had the Vintage Mode functionality of the Prophet 5/10, OB-6 and Prophet 6, get his sounds.  I was not disappointed, and you won't be either.

In fact, your two soundsets were the deciding factor to finally buy the Rev 2. I did so a week before Christmas and am completely (!!!!!!!) thrilled. The Rev2 was a good instrument before, now an outstanding good one.
(I bought two more soundsets, which are also supposed to have something like your VCM, but they are nowhere near yours. You notice that it was made with a lot of meticulousness so that everything is faultless. When are you releasing the third one? Will buy blind. :-) )

Sequential should give you a big big big bonus...
