Poly Evolver getting out of tune
« on: August 18, 2018, 04:34:00 AM »
Hello everyone,

so i recently picked up my first analog synth - the poly evolver - and after one month i thought that i finally understood it, so i updated its firmware to the most recent one. After doing so, i noticed that it's detuned by a note or so. I can kinda fix it by pressing the Reset button, but it gets really annoying because after 10 min its detuned again. Is there any fix for that?

Thanks.

I just found out how to fix it: I needed to calibrate the pitch wheel then it would stay in tune. :-X

This is strange- I've never heard of this before. The Evolvers have super stable analog oscillators and well, the digital ones never go out of pitch. How did you go about calibrating the pitch wheel?

Perhaps the info in the Poly Evolver Keyboard Pot Conversion Instructions [PDF] will help.

Mine was a step flat when I turned it on.  Let it warm up for 20m and it settled at 10cents flat.  The reset key got it in tune.  We'll see how long it holds.  If it's drifts I will try the pitch bend calibration discussed above.
