Thanks Soundquest.

Here's another one, with the OB6 and its friends the Prophet REV2 and Minimoog D.

Hi guys, I just bought an ob6 module mainly for blending into my guitar tones. I like to run the ob6 into my axefx 3 and put stereo effects on it to blend it with my guitar sound.
Also starting in September of this year (2018) I have been making an attempt to release an ep/album each month. I just released the one for November and it is full of the ob6! I am falling in love with this synth the more I work with it.

Latest improv session on my OB-6 Module:

Love using this little box standalone like this, so much fun getting sucked in and way more complex than people realize I continually find.  :)

My humble instrumental cover of this well known Gary Numan song from 1979. Done on the OB6 and Minimoog D.
Enjoy!

I suppose I could just as easily place this in the P12 music category.  Main theme is OB6, whereas the pads, voices (choir), sound effects and whistling is all P12.  Strymon BigSky for the bigger reverbs.   The main sequence is the sequencer running with me playing the "piano" notes simultaneously on the OB6.  Meaning that it's all one patch.

I like it--that's not a "typical" Oberheim patch, and shows off its versatility.
Prophet 12, Modal 002, MFB Dominion 1, Behringer DeepMind 12D, Korg Polysix & EX-8000, Roland JX-8P, Ensoniq SQ-80, Kawai K3m and now an OB-6!

Excellent strumming effect for a keyboard.

Thanks both,   The OB6 does have a lot of tricks up it's sleeve other than the "Jump" pad ;)  In this case I was originally aiming for a banjo.  But then, one of the funnest things for me to do is just start making a patch with a basic idea of an instrument in mind and see where it ends.  It's only about a 50/50 success rate as far as hitting the original goal.   At this point, that type of experimentation is really enjoyable and what keeps me a little leery of diving into a decent sampler based instrument.   I mean I'd love to try one, especially the Prophet X, but I'm afraid I'd spend to much time surfing the samples.

It's been said a bunch of times already, but the OB 6's layout just does beg it to be played.  I don't use this instrument as much as I should, distracted with other fine DSI gear ;).   Pads are really nice on this thing.  I know it's demo'ed a lot with the sizzle open filter sound, jump patch, etc...  but there's a soft side to this beast too,  that is perhaps less obvious.

Anyway,...I started messing around with some pads which led to this song.  But of course, I had to add some voicey sounds too.  Anyway....this is all  99% OB 6, except for a little ping sequence and some wind chime effects which is Pro 2.

I noticed that the pulse waves on Ob6 are somewhat rounded on the bottoms seen on an oscilloscope.  Is that part of it's character?

This track started life as a sketch I made on the Teenage Engineering OP-Z.  From that sketch, the drums, bassline, some of the atmospheres, and some percussion parts all were recorded into Ableton Live where the arranging, mixing and mastering occured.  I used a Roland TR-8S to add the additional filtered percussion that runs throughout the track.  The guitar parts are courtesy of my Ibanez S6521Q played through a Line6 Stomp HX.  Most of  synth parts and fills were made with the DSI OB-6 and few were done with Omnisphere as well.

I found that the OB6 and Pro 2 makes a nice symbiotic pair.  I suppose one reason is that I have them stacked next to each other, but the analogue/digital contrast is nice as well.  In this song, the main meat is the OB6 pad.  The "oboe" and some sequences voice snipbits, windchimes is Pro 2.

Hey Folks,

here's some 80's inspired german NDW stuff.

All sounds from the OB-6 except the drums (and voice). ;-)

Do you like it?

I'm always impressed how fast and precise the workflow of sound design works on the OB-6. I LOVE YOU, OB-6!  :-*

Best,
