A favorite symbiotic pair of mine, DSI OB6 and Pro 2 synthesizers- accompanied with Alesis drum machine- make up this one. Arturia Keystep drives the calliope and glockenspiel.

Most of the sound in this is OB6....The plucky strings, crickets, grasshopper, fly, cicadas, wind and hawk.  For the forest birds I used the Doepfer Dark energy with manual pitch sweeps.  Rounding it out is a string pad in via the Hydrasynth.

To give a realistic presence to all the forest critters I used an impulse reflection that I recorded in the Monongahela NF in WVa., and applied that as the reverb.

That is very nice. Enjoyable listen. Our cat was sitting beside me while I played it. She was extremely alert and twitchy and looking around trying to figure out where the animals were.

Thanks a lot. It really was one of these "one-time inspirational days". Ask me to recreate it again and I won't be able to do it. But that is the magic of the instrument. I don't care it is not as versatile as other polysynths. The truth of the matter is - OB-6 covers territory that many other synths can't even dream of. This is just OB6 with  erica synths Echolocator "delay box".   Sometimes the OB6 gets a bad rap on its effects.   Though I find the BBD delay to be quite nice actually.  But in this case, I turned off the OB onboard effects to just showcase the echolocator box.  I've only had this unit a few weeks but have enjoyed its potential.

This song uses both the Pro 2 and OB6 synthesizers. Most of the sequence parts and the "plucky parts" are Pro2-whereas the OB6 is more for the pads, flutes and weird voices.

A slow fade in is done in a style like a synth artist inspiration of mine-Stellardrone- which crescendos to show some of the OB6 tone and power.  I used an Oxi One sequencer for the sequence that fades in and out, some drums by an Alesis Drum machine, and some effects from the Strymon Night Sky, but many effects are also OB6's on-board.
