Probably a server crash or hard disk crash, or both.

It would be nice from the forum administrators to keep us informed of such events, if that's indeed what happened ?

I figured that would be said.  Here's an explanation from DSI:

"Unfortunately, our host had some issues over the weekend and they had to roll back to the last known backup. The bad news is it doesn't look like we'll get that week's worth of posts back."
