OSC Pitch Amount only 24 Semi Tones?

I'm struggling to believe that you can only pitch OSC 1 or 2 or both by 24 semitones. Is there a way to increase this amount? Every other synth I know enables pitching by up to 4 or 5 octaves. I'm trying to make some typical slow then fast high pitch squeals on my Prophet 6 but cannot find a way to increase the pitch amount be it Ploy Mod, ENV, LFO, Aftertouch or PW mod.
I'd love to be told otherwise. If by chance that is the way it is then what chance do we have of DSI allowing us a greater range? It's crucial to modern Bass / Trap / Urban sound design.

Just to clarify I mean the amount of modulation you can apply to pitch. It seems you can only modulate the pitch by 24 semitones
