Mono Output Bug

Mono Output Bug
« on: February 14, 2018, 01:32:24 PM »
Hi,

Just receive my REV2, i use it on two mono input on my mixer, so i set the rev2 to mono in global menu.

But in order to listen the two sounds/Layer separately, i must use Right A and  Left B

If i use Right A and Left B or Left A and Left B  i hear a mix of the two sounds/Layer

Is it a bug or not ?

Thanks

The REV2 is a stereo synth. So I would leave it in stereo mode and pan channel 1 left and channel 2 right on your mixer.
That way, if the pan spread is used, the stereo image will be correct, and if it’s not used the sound will be mono equally from both channels.

I checked on my REV2 in mono mode and to listen to layer B only, I simply press Edit Layer B button and I can hear layed B. If that button isn't lit up, I hear layer A only. Of course, pressing Stack A+B will hear both layers together, and pressing Split A/B will play either layer A below a certain note, and layer B higher than that note played on the keyboard.

You could always check with headphones plugged in the Phones output to make sure that everything is in mono there ?

Hope this helps ?

Manual page 6.

Would think that you should only hear Layer B when B jacks are plugged in (page 13, item 7).
That means:

Stack mode:
Plays one note on A and one note on layer B. Layer A on out A and layer B on out B
Both layer A and B on headphone.

Split mode:
Notes below split point played from layer A on out A, above on and split point layer B on out B
Both Layer A and B on headphone

Not in stack or split mode with Edit B off:
Only sounds from layer  A on out A and on headphone.
no sounds from layer B on out A or B

Not in stack or split mode with Edit B on
Only sounds from layer B on out B and on headphone
No sounds from layer A on out A or B

In multi mode
B channel is played for notes on MIDI channel + 1
Sounds from layer B on out B
Sounds from layer A on out A
Channel A  on headphone when Edit B is off
Channel B on headphone when Edit B is selected
No stack or split functionality. (see manual page 15 item 12)

I have a feeling this is not correctly implemented, see my other posts on this.
Still verifying it....
