Patch naming shortcut to delete 'BasicProgramA'
« on: December 16, 2017, 07:34:25 AM »
Is there a shorcut to delete the default patch name when writing/naming a new patch?  Turning the knobs to blank each letter is tedious.  Or, is there a way to change the default patch name to ' ' (empty string)?

I don't think so, since that basic patch is being recalled from ROM.
You could always make your own basic starting patch, name it whatever you want (even an empty string), and save it to U1 P1 for easy access ?

That's the best way IMHO. You will maybe want to have different basic patches for lead, pad, ...

and if you don't want to use a user-program slot, then if you have some kind of bank manager software for the REV2, you are actually able to overwrite the factory presets, which is probably ideal for such a basic program... the last patch (and even a few others) in the factory bank are test programs for the filter etc... these are basically useless, and would be perfect slots for your basic programs... but you have to dump your basic program from a user slot, to a computer... and then change the destination bank and program in the SysEx file, and then send it back to the REV2 to do this, so without a proper SysEx bank manager for the REV2 it's not possible... factory programs can only be overwritten via MIDI dump... not from the REV2 directly :)
If you need me, follow the shadows...
